FEATURED THIS MONTH... OCEO Art, Chapmanslade, Wiltshire

Each month we will be showcasing one business entry from the Homexplorer Interiors Guide

This Month we look at OC-EO Art  and artist He Hong Wei who will  be featuring at their next exhibition of Chinese contemporary opening on July 1st 2008.

Painting by He Hong Wei from the 'Hometown' Series

Business: OC-EO Art

Artist: He Hong Wei

Background:  Born 1971 in Inner Mongolia, He Hong Wei has won accolades for his work on paper documenting the Asian SARS crisis of 2003, and has exhibited at several major exhibitions in Beijing. On show at this, his inaugural solo show in London, will be his 'Hometown' series, an exploration of the significance of birth place in Chinese culture and perhaps a statement about the price of progress in the world's fastest growing economy. Rooted in traditional Chinese brush painting, but also strongly influenced by Cezanne and Picasso, Hong Wei's series of abstract/impressionist land- and city-scapes is like an ancient, epic Chinese scroll painting, linking the past, present and future with powerful and emotional memories. But it is also a series of independent paintings, each with their own artistic individuality and aesthetics.

Exhibition: Entitled Hometown, the exhibition will be held at Gallery 27, 27 Cork Street, London W1, from Monday 30 June to Saturday 12 July (not Sundays). Opening hours will be 10am-6pm daily, closing at 4pm on the last day.

25 works from He Hong Wei's Hometown series will be on view and offered for sale and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the China Earthquake Appeal.
