Somerset
has abidingly beautiful countryside, and hidden hamlets
and villages, as well as fine towns and cities. Bristol,
with its stunning Suspension Bridge which spans the Avon
Gorge and leads to Clifton Village, no doubt the city’s
most attractive shopping quarter with its wonderful
Georgian and Regency architecture, terraces, and
squares, is a city where the cosmopolitan mix of unique
shops and café culture somehow attract a feast of
interior delights.
Meanwhile, nearby Bath is still as much in vogue today
as it was when the Romans built it thousands of years
ago. Away from the city environment, there are a number
of small towns such as Clevedon, Dunster, Langport,
Somerton, and Bruton, which are perfect for tracking
down a specialist or two.

The glass, lighting, and furniture dealers featured on
these pages are really worth taking a detour to, whilst
the master craftsmen, potters, sculptors, and designers
are busy crafting our ‘treasures of tomorrow’ from their
local studios.
Getting there: Coming from either the M5 or M4
Motorways, follow signs for Clifton, Bristol, or Bath,
all of which link up with one another. The M5 Motorway
and A37 will then take you to south Somerset.
Our
Hotspots for Somerset are
Somerton and Langport; simply click on the
image below for details on how to get there, where to
park and which dealers to visit.

It’s so handy
when you can take a trip out
shopping for a bit of interior
inspiration, and come across two
neighbouring towns that can pro
vide
the whole ensemble! Langport claims
to be the smallest town in England,
but it certainly doesn’t lack in
charming shops and places to eat. |
